I deleted you from my phone today.

I know why I kept you in there so long,

Even though I knew you’d never contact me again,

But eventually the danger of accidentally texting you instead of Karla

Got the best of me.

I deleted you from my phone today.

You’re not going to call.

Or text.

And Lord knows I won’t be contacting you.

But I needed to be sure

Just in case

What if you changed your mind?

Or needed me?

Then I could be the one

Who didn’t reply.

When I almost asked you what time the meeting was

Instead of asking Karla

I knew

It was time for you to go.
